David Scott Davis, age 81, born in Bloomington, Indiana,  passed away April 9, 2019, in Indianapolis. He was a graduate of Bloomington High School, Class of 1956 and attended Purdue and Indiana University. He was a former hydraulic engineer, retired. He was a member of Grace Assembly of God, New Whiteland, Indiana, for many years.

 

He is preceded in death by his mother, Betty Mae (Davis) Elkins; step-father, Edgar Elkins; father, Joseph Solomito; and son-in-law, Gail Wayne Allison.  

 

He is survived by his wife Nancy Jane (Wiley) Davis; two daughters Raisa (Davis) Allison of Indianapolis; Christina (Davis) Stambaugh(Rick Stambaugh) of Utah; Grandchildren, Ryan Stambaugh of Utah, Heather (Stambaugh) Jensen (Anton Jensen) of Nebraska, David Tibbs (Rachel Hyde) Tibbs of MO; Jonathan Tibbs of Plainfield; and three great-grandchildren Garrett Tibbs, Audrey Grace Tibbs, and Grant Tibbs of MO; brothers and sisters; James Elkins, Mary S. Rader, Donna Elkins, Judy Elkins, Donna (Solomito) Ash, Rita Solomito, and Tony Solomito.

 

David was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He enjoyed hearing a good joke and loved to tell a new one every chance he could get. He also enjoyed his gardening, bird watching, reading, and hunting.

 

Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, April the 15th 2019 at Grace Assembly of God, in New Whiteland, IN. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. with a brief service following at 3 p.m. Cremation to follow. In place of flowers, donations may be made to the Missions at Grace Assembly of God.
